Ian practices in the areas of business law, estate planning, and nonprofit organizations.

Ian has helped his business clients meet a variety of challenges, from start-up to merger/acquisition, and he is experienced in corporate governance and finance, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing and development, product distribution and sales, joint ventures, and a broad spectrum of other commercial transactions. Ian's business law practice includes a substantial focus on information technology companies, and he has acted as general counsel to software and equipment developers, manufacturers, resellers, and other technology companies, since 1997.

Estate planning and administration also represents a considerable portion of Ian's practice, and he is experienced in the creation and implementation of complex wealth transfer and protection plans.

Ian’s skills in tax law, corporate governance, and estate planning, come together in the representation of nonprofit organizations, with a particular focus on private foundations and supporting organizations. Ian also represents charitable donors in the course of his tax and estate planning practice.
