Fritz is an experienced general commercial and business litigator. He often represents clients in construction litigation and arbitrations involving construction defects, time impact claims, lien foreclosures and bond claims. He has acted as an arbitrator on construction cases. He frequently handles product litigation claims for breach of express and implied warranties and claims for lost profits, as well as more general litigation involving breaches of contract, enforcement of secured transactions and creditors’ rights. For the firm's business clients, Fritz assists in contract drafting and review of owner-contractor relationships, subcontracts and material contracts.
Fritz also represents property owners involved in real property issues - from easement disputes to adverse possession and inverse condemnation takings claims. His cases often include advocating for private property owners against public entities to protect property rights, and in cases concerning public measures regarding property rights.
In addition, Fritz has successfully argued and resolved intellectual property cases involving trade name and trademark disputes, copyright claims, trade secrets relating to telecommunications and computer applications, and other more traditional trade secret claims and non-competition agreement enforcement.
Fritz is a past chair of the Oregon State Bar construction law section and was a member of the section's executive committee. He has served as a speaker at seminars on topics such as construction law and electronic discovery.
